It has a great variety at reasonable prices. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Much better than Bai Jia across the street. Cleaner, brighter, and fresher feel just walking in. Coming from Houston where we have a massive Chinatown, I feel much happier knowing they have everything I'd want/need!
Chong's has been around for a long time and for good reason. They have a great selection of dry staple Asian food items, but also have a substantial freezer section as well as a fresh produce area. Their prices are reasonable and you'll find what you're looking for, and plenty of other goodies.
It's my favorite Asian market in Iowa city. The price is fair and goods are nice.
