I highly recommend you ask for a top floor room because if you're on the main floor you can hear EVERY FOOTSTEP above you. Speaking of above, I'm not entirely sure this hotel was planned to be 2 levels. When you walk down the upstairs hallway it feels as though the poorly constructed floor will give away at any minute.
Rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good. Location to U of I hospital was about 1.5 miles
The rooms: Terrible. The plumbing is awful and the cable is barely functioning. If you're in room 113 I really hope you enjoy a sauna or an icebox, because there is no in-between. If you need to run the a/c, despite the fact that it's December then prepare for your room to sound like it's at the end of the runway.
Lastly -- my MOST favorite detail -- room 218 has a damn band-aid covering the peephole. I was in that room 2 consecutive weekends in a row, so lord only knows how long it's been there. I like to think that it was at least a clean band aid but based on the level of quality of this hotel I just can't be sure.
DO NOT stay here if you have any expectation of hospitality. In fact, I'm not sure any of the staff knows they're in the hospitality business. Every person I interacted with seemed as though they were being forced to work there at gunpoint. Train your staff to understand customer service. Also, you should probably not let them loudly listen to crappy rap music on the company computer while guests are eating breakfast. Tacky and unprofessional.
Better than expected. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Bright white towels and sheets, hot shower. Easy access to Highway, gas stations and food nearby. My only complaint was that the people above us were loud.
Also, if you DO ask for a top floor room, prepare to lug your suitcase upstairs as there is no elevator -- pack light my friends!
Good stay, beds were nice and comfy. Bed service was good as well. Breakfast hospitality was. Ok, eggs and cheese omelets every other day and sausage party's and biscuits every other day. Down side the Internet WiFi did not work with exactly well with some devices.
If you are light sensitive, you better hope you don't get a room facing the parking lot because their "black out" shades don't really do a good job. Your room will be lit up like the 4th of July.
Full continental breakfast which was fairly good as well. The rooms eye clean, and the beds were nice and so were the pillows. Showers are also nice, and have good water pressure. Overall, I was pleased with my stay here.
