We saw Star Wars this morning, New Years Day. Loooong line to purchase tickets & super expensive popcorn. Only one person behind the counter, handling ticket and food sales. Very nice young gal! Very overworked but very polite and professional. Movie was good but very cold in theater. And no paper towels in the bathroom. We don’t go to the theater often, it’s too expensive.
There are a few pros and cons here, and it kind of balances.
Oops. Now it's flashing weirdly.
My complaint is that the snack area was totally depleted and when I was given my popcorn bucket it was only 3/4 full, when you pay over $20 for popcorn and pop you should get what you paid for..
We got there on Christmast to see a movie that was supposed to start at 7pm on to discover it wouldn't start until about 715 because of power outage. Power was back on just needed to wait for permission to resume movies, etc.
Snacks are great-tasting but pretty expensive. The theaters are cool, with nice surround sound, lighting and atmosphere of the movie, and the seats comfortable feeling, but they get hot, and the staff don't clean up very thoroughly sometimes. Some of the employees are great people, but some are not so great.
Speaking of that, it's 7:05 and the projector isn't even on. It's a 7:00 show.
Marcus is great in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, but this place doesn't seem to have their act together. There was one person at the ticket booth and a long line, and they didn't let anyone back into any movie until 10 minutes before the supposed show time.
Now that the movie is over, I can also report that the side speakers were broken, and the film wasn't framed properly, as some words were cut off the side.
Theater itself is great. Just not sure when they started allowing young teenagers into rated R movies. Made the entire experience of going to a theater pointless. Could barely hear 75% of the movie. Won't be going for anymore movies
Personally, overall, the pros outweigh the cons, and it's definitely a theater worth going to, especially to see a big movie opening night, like Star Wars or MCU.
