The staff was extremely corteous. My husband simply needed links taken out of a new watch he had purchased elsewhere. We were helped promptly and with friendly smiles. We grabbed a bite at 30Hop next door and the watch was ready as soon as we were done with lunch. I enjoyed our conversation with the owner. DLJ will now be our first stop for a jeweler.
One day while down at the Iowa River Landing (lots of cool stuff down there if you haven't checked it out recently) I randomly decided to stop in to Diamond Leaf Jewelers and get my wedding ring cleaned. Before cleaning it Miriam checked it for loose stones and noticed that two were loose in their setting. It was a problem I had had before with the ring, but thought had been corrected by a previous jeweler. Miriam was very helpful in clearly explaining why the stones were loose and even showing me under magnification what the issue was. Though I am not from the area, I visit regularly for business, so I decided to have her do the adjustment to my ring to correct the problem.

Just before the work was done she gave me another call with more detail and a few more ideas for my ring. Once we decided which route to go, the work was done within the time frame she had estimated for me (which was important since I wanted to time my ring being done with my next visit to the area). I was very pleased with the quality of work done. She made sure to let me know that she would check the ring in the future at no charge to make sure the stones remained set as intended.
Throughout the entire process, from the time I first walked in the door until after I'd picked up my ring, the most impressive part of the experience was the effort and care Miriam gave to me as a customer. I felt she was very invested in making sure that I understood what my options were. She listened carefully and was understanding of what my priorities were, and she offered helpful suggestions based on the feedback I gave.
What a great experience!! My partner and I were looking for matching bands and Miriam helped us pick them out and then helped us along in customizing them a bit. The minute we walked in the door we felt so comfortable. The atmosphere is so laid back and we did not feel pressured at all. Would recommend them in a heartbeat and already have to a few people. It's hard to know where to begin in describing Miriam and her work. After running through the gamut of Kansas City jewelers (who made me feel like I was buying a car or "scoring a great deal"), I found Miriam in a moment of desperation. I'd been searching for a vintage engagement ring, and when I called Diamond Leaf Jewelers, I explained as much. I still remember what Miriam said: "Oh how wonderful! We actually specialize in custom jewelry, but if you want to come down to the store, I'd love to meet you and learn about what you are looking for and how I can help!" I was blown away by her willingness to use her estate connections to help me find the perfect ring, and her creativity when we decided to go custom using a familiy stone and antique accent stones. Miriam's wit, intellect, and extremely high standards amaze me every day.
I was referred to Miriam when I began shopping for an engagement ring for my (now) wife. I wasn’t completely sure what I was looking for but had a good idea. She worked with my budget and was able to find the perfect stone and designed an amazing setting and overall fantastic ring.
